I am an EFL trainer and Academic Coordinator for King Saud University-Riyadh, KSA. I started my career as an educator in 1995 as a university lecturer at the University of the East-Manila Philippines. In year 2000, I decided to be a full-time mom and a mentor to my first born at the same time enjoying life in Singapore. In 2004, I went back to teaching and had the most rewarding and wonderful episode in all my teaching career, being an Early Years teacher. I had seen so much about life in a large perspective! In 2008, I had the opportunity to become an EFL trainer for adults in Saudi Arabia, first at a language training center then next, at a university level. It was so amazing having to work with such big number of EFL teachers coming from around the globe with different cultural backgrounds. In 2009, I was blessed to move up to a supervisory position, leading the "Self Directed Learning"(SDL) component of the foundation Year curriculum. It was interesting to see how well we can mix creativity with education! It wasn't easy but it did work! In 2011 until present, I continued to move up in the educational management by assuming the role of an Academic Coordinator, line-managing EFL teachers. I can say that I am more of a mentor and a leader than that of a manager!
Currently, I am working on some manuscripts for handwriting practice for children - "Scribbling is Writing", a pre-handwriting workbook for young learners based on perceptual skills, improving children's fine motor skills, hand and eye coordination, spatial organization, etc. Another work in progress is my phonics workbook, "Sounds Fun!", which introduces reasonable groups of sounds to children first rather than letter names.
I wish to contribute my work to the academic field and share them with teachers and parents in the very near future!
